Door Lock Actuator Died - Diy Link?

The Josh

Recommended Posts

Hey all, my front passenger door lock actuator died today. I want to replace it myself but could not find a DIY procedure. Can anyone reply with link(s)??

I replaced both rear actuators in my old GS but I have not yet replaced a front unit. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Josh

Okay, I've tried many searches and am unable to find anything/anyone that can tell me how to get the door open to fix the actuator. Mine is stuck with the door closed (and locked) and I've had one mechanic tell me the door has to be disassembled from the inside - which seems like a really, really bad idea.? I greatly appreciate any advice/help , especially from someone in or near Dallas (Mr Billy Powell..?)
