bluegreeneye
I have been approached by our local dealer giving a "package" price for 45,000 mile maintenace for changing out fluids and other services for around $300. Price quoted for a 60,000 mile maintenance was around $750 if memory serves me right. Price for the 90,000 mile maintenance was very high. Question is - Is this necessary? Do other members automatically do these? Alternatives, suggestions or ideas? Is this just the price of owning a 2000 GS400 Platinum edition? Appreciate any information (bvalk@bluegreeneye.com). Thanks, Bruce
Rodders
Generally speaking the service costs of the GS series are quite low, except for the 63K service (100K on later models) where you have to change the cam belt and all the plugs. That one is very expensive.
SW03ES
Looks to me like that quote is rather low for a Lexus dealer servicing the V8 engine. You might want to see if you can find a Toyota dealer, prices are lower and whether they service Lexus cars is up to each dealer.
