I was called by the local Lexus dealer after my oil change. They suggested that I get a $400 maintenance at 45K, $750 for a 60K checkup and at 90K, it is a couple thousand dollars. Is this necessary or common? What do they acutally do? Thanks, Bruce

I have been approached by our local dealer giving a "package" price for 45,000 mile maintenace for changing out fluids and other services for around $300. Price quoted for a 60,000 mile maintenance was around $750 if memory serves me right. Price for the 90,000 mile maintenance was very high. Question is - Is this necessary? Do other members automatically do these? Alternatives, suggestions or ideas? Is this just the price of owning a 2000 GS400 Platinum edition? Appreciate any information (bvalk@bluegreeneye.com).
