Thank for any help. I have a 92 sc400 with glowing red cats (both) and rattling noises. I found lots of info here and so far I have changed the coils with no luck here are my questions.

I do not think the plugs have ever been changed car at 180000 with the glowing and rattling is it worth the try to change them, the car idles great but no power.

next question the person I got it from said it was a Calforina car exactly what does the mean?

next- are all three cats the same part

last question it has 3 cats does it legally have to have all three in North Carolina, could you cut the front two and still be legal.

I would cut all three off and let it breathe. Might be alittle louder, but nothing crazy. They are prolly stopped up. Second option is to remove them, knock them out, and then reinstall.Any mods to the cats and it might cause a check engine code. Keep that in mind.
