Estefano Eldelado Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 hello to everybody, this is great site! I own a 2003 rx300 , last friday I replaced myself front rotors and brake pads, today monday I finished the job replacing the rear pads (rotors were good) I like to do most of the work myself just for the fun of it (and a good six pack) next project is to replace spark plugs one these coming weekends.
FloridaRX Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Welcome! I just bought a 99 RX300!! I'm in love with mine. I used to own a Lexus GS 300. I love the Lexus product and believe in in. Karen
Rastaprincess Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Hello All lexus lovers, I am new to the site, I own a 92 lexus ls400 (which I have named Julie). I am having a few problems with it, but my main issue is that the odometer has stopped working. I bought it at 75K. I am not sure what the issue is, please help.
lenore Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 welcome aboard, and enjoy your ride....lots to learn and share on this site..
Dr. B Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Thanks , Rich for your post re: Karco. I will be calling them Monday. I just had an unpleasant surprise getting an oil change and tire R&B for, gasp, $200 . I was told that Toyota had better prices than Lexus, but they were actually higher. Karco seems like a good alternative. I have a 2008 RX 400h that I bought a year ago that needs routine maintenance. I need an honest mechanic that I can rely on.
fsuguy Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I have a '92 as well, and had the same problem - the trip meter, temp, speed, fuel gauges and all lights worked. However, the tach and odo did not. Replaced the tach with a new one and it was fine, which implied a non-electrical problem local to the tach itself. Replaced the odometer with a used one and it works. My opinion is that the gearing in the odometer breaks down over time and extreme temperatures, since the motor still works. By the way, dealers probably will not sell you the odo by itself. Hope this helps.
