beginner
After not using the car and park it outdoor a week, I had a cold start of engine at extreme cold weather. There might be misfires so the engine light was on. I turned the engine off and then restart it. Everything is okay afterward but the check engine light is still on after one week. How can I turn the check engine light off after this one-time event? Thanks!
clubfoot
You can try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes or use a code reader. where ar eyou located?
smooth1
Don't disconnect the battery and clear the ECU yet. Get a scan done first and write down the codes it stored. Then find out what those codes relate to. You may determine there are some repairs to make first. Then reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for about 5 or 10 minutes if you want and see if the same codes come back. If they do, then you have an issue to resolve.
