prosperopro Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I've problem with my ls400. I don't know what's that mean. it's lighting from 2 days ago. Lexus ls400 from 94y UCF11 Sorry for my English. Greeting from Poland
steve2006 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 It means your coolant (water) level is low, look at the plastic tank on the driver's side of the engine bay near the battery, there are 2 lines on it, the coolant should be a least up to the bottom line when the engine is cold. If it is low top up with Toyota ready mixed antifreeze or a good quality long life one then keep an eye on it over the next few days, if it drops again look for leaks.
jaswood Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Coolant lever sensor/float failure is also not that uncommon.
prosperopro Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 ohh. I've also problem with heater. From ~600rpm to ~1,3krpm there isn't hot air. Could it be water pump?
jaswood Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 ohh. I've also problem with heater. From ~600rpm to ~1,3krpm there isn't hot air. Could it be water pump? A low coolant will do that also. Another thing might be a "vapor lock", air bubble, in the hoses to/from the heater core, often resulting from low coolant and persisting even after coolant is filled.
prosperopro Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 Today I'm refilling a coolant and now is evrything allright ;) By the way: where is vapor lock in ls400? In Yours lexus mirror settings and seat settings are lighting ?
steve2006 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Vapour lock is air trapped in the cooling system and normally occurs more in the top engine area. Have a look at the link below, numbers 18 onwards may help you understand how to avoid vapour locks when refilling the coolant. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/cooling/coolant.html The mirror and seat switches are not illuminated.
