MichelleN Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Do you pay for the following fees: 1) advertising fees? if so, about how much? 2) disposition fee? if so, how much? 3) acquisition fee? if so, how much? 4) delivery fee? is this fee a standard amount?
pj8708 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Hi Michelle. Welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. I have leased several cars over the years, but have not had a lease in the last few years. However, I don't think some of the fundementals of the contracts have changed. For example, paying for advertising. Never heard of that, and frankly, that's the stupidest thing I ever heard a dealer try to pull off on somebody. Disposition fee: Have know idea what there disposition is, but you shouldn't be paying for it. The other two are standard and you won't get out of them. As for a standard amount, this will vary wildly from dealer to dealer and from region to region. Good luck. Paul
MichelleN Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 Advertising fee - fee they say they have to pay to advertise for the car Delivery fee - they pay this shipping fee to get the car Disposition fee - if after the lease ends, and you don't buy that car, or don't lease another car from Lexus, they will charge this fee. It's about a few hundred dollars fee. Acquisition fee - fee to process the lease paperwork They just add all these fees to make more money for themselves. It looks like delivery fee and acquisition fee may be legit. The other 2 fees, seem fishy.

Delivery fee, is that the same as destination fee? Acquisition fee, is that the same as documentation fee?
SW03ES Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Yeah the advertising fee and delivery fee aren't a part of the lease, those are fees built into the purchase of the vehicle. The destination charge from Lexus is built into the MSRP. Some dealers charge an additional delivery and advertising fee, these aren't "required" fees. The acquisition fee is $700 or so if I remember correctly...LFS' fees are mandatory. Its all relative, theres only so much profit in a car and you just have to look at the overall bottom line to decide if a deal is right for you or not.
