Hi

I have to decide between two cars

2008 RX 400h Hybrid with 15,000 miles for $31,500

or

2010 RX 350 Non-hybrid with 35,00 miles for $34,000

both cars are black/black with NAV and basically fully loaded

will the hybrid really give me that much better gas mileage?

is the new body style better?

i need help have to pick up car this week

Thanks

Jonathan

My advice would be the 2010. The 35,000 miles are barely enough to break in the engine. LOL

Any reason you prefer the 2010 other than it being newer?

its $2,500 more and has 20,000 more miles

both cars are similarly equipped

wont i save about $1,000 plus yearly on gas with hybrid?

Thanks again

The 2010 is a little more, but it is also two years newer and thereby will have less depreciation.

I like the new refreshed body style of the 2010 RX350.

If you are buying the hybrid, I would only buy it as a CPO, (Certified Pre-Owned), with a particular warranty on the battery. The battery will need to be changed at some point and is expensive.

I haven't been convinced that the RX H has been that much better in mpg.

Also, just as a matter of etiquette its extremely rude to come into our forum and blast multiple forums with the same post. One thread, properly posted is enough. I'm closing your other threads and linking them here...

Anyways...which body style do you prefer? You ask us which is better, but really its your opinion that counts. Have you driven both? The hybrid powertrain is a little bit different driving experience.

As for fuel savings, depends on how much you drive, and how you drive. The main benefit of the hybrid is found in the city, if you drive a lot of highway miles I think you'll find the economy is pretty similar between the two.

Check out www.fueleconomy.gov.

I think those prices are pretty high for both vehicles, especially that 2010 with those miles. I'd offer them $30k for it.

Personally I prefer the older body style....Also as has been said the RX400h is faster....Mileage wise We average 23.5 all of the time...

Either one "AWD"..??

In your area I would think AWD would be the best choice.
