DeanH Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 On my 2004 GS300 while running the A/C and at idle speed, from time time, I get an engine warning light. The warning goes away after a day or so but reappears again under the same conditions. Is there some type of sensor that increases idol rpm's to account for A/C pull on engine while at idle? Thanks for reading and responding. Dean
1990LS400 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 It's better to see if there are any stored error codes than speculating. Too many issues can activate the CEL. Many people have reported that stores like Autozone will read the codes for you at little or no charge. If you have one of the more recent Garmin portable GPS units with Bluetooth, Garmin has their compatible "EcoRoute HD" ($100 retail) product that plugs into the ODBC port under your dash and turns a Garmin GPS into a code reader as well as providing lots of other engine performance information.
DeanH Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Jim, thanks for the thought. I'll take it to my local gas station, the owner who I know has a code reader.
