95 SC300 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Hi guys, I recently bought a 95 SC300 and I love the car but I'm having a problem with the keyless entry. The driver's side door doesn't work with the key but the passenger side does. It seems to be getting a pulse but it doesn't lock or unlock. Any ideas?
bugjug Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Either the linkage is broken, or the solenoid actuator is hosed. If you can hear the clicking inside the door, the solution is going to be to *carefully* remove the door panel and take a look at what is going on.
95 SC300 Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 I actually decided to have an alarm installed and the guy said it was the actuator. I'm going to try and track one down and try to install it myself. Do you know if this is an easy enough job or should I just pay to have it done?
bugjug Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 It is very easy. Just be careful removing the door panel, because the plastics Lexus used are brittle at this age.
grnsc40095 Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 DIY Removal of door and Take your time. It's inevitable parts of the plastic will brake. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/lexus-audio-video-security-and-electronics/109384-speaker-install-how-to-with-tons-of-pics-sc3-400-a.html#post802171
