This man thinks it is past the time to raise the speed limits. He says that 150mph is realistic and should be phased in over the next few years.

He also believes the German cars are superior because they are made to run at these higher speeds.

What do you think?

I agree it's "possible" to allow cars to travel at higher speeds, but considering the fact that just about "anyone" can get behind the wheel, it's not safe. If the selection process for deciding who can drive and who cannot was a little more strict, i'd see no harm in it. If only professional drivers were allowed to drive, things would be better controlled. Of course, cars would have to be redesigned to handle such speeds and prevent hydroplaning etc.

This theory has already been proven with air travel. Some planes have been built to travel 3 times the speed of sound very safely, if piloted by professionals. Now, put your average Joe in the cockpit of a 747 and it's a different story...
