fredkrieg2210 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I have a 1990 Lexus LS400 and the anti lock brake light sometimes pops on. When it does this, the car starts cutting out like it is gong to die, for a second or two, then starts back up. The tachometer drops to zero rpm when it cuts out. This can continue every 5 seconds or so for miles making me think I'm not going to get home or to work. It's like something shorts out and resets, and cycles over and over. This problem is only once in a while but, I'm afraid it will totally go dead the next time if I don't solve the problem. Thanks Fred
steve2006 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Hi Fred welcome to the LOC, First thing to do is read the diagnostic codes for the ABS ( reading the engine and transmission codes wouldn't hurt while you are in there just to make sure there are no other problems) Follow the instructions precisely http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html Once you have the codes post up the results and we can take it from there
