Tinac Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Hey Everyone, I have a 2002 IS300 and I need to replace the stereo. I have no idea where to begin. I need a CD player and mp3 player input, but that's about all I really need. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I don't want the cheapest outfit, either. Any suggestions? Specifically, 1) Should I get a replacement from a dealer or go with aftermarket? 2) Do I need to replace the CD changer, as well? (As you can tell, I don't even know what to ask for.) 3) Do I need to replace the speakers, as well? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tina
IanH Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I assume you will have a stereo shop do the install for you ? decide what you need, 1DIN or 2DIN slot and see what your shop has. i will look for info on the Amp and get back to you ( I am interested)

I am not sure, but I guess it's a 2DIN that's in it now (factory stereo). I would probably want the same thing, right? Thanks for your help.
Mistery Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Yes just look for a 2 Din... And the rest is all just preference on sound and how loud you want it.
Coryphaena Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 I have a 2002 Lexus IS300 Sportcross (wagon) - the OEM head unit is dead, and I want to replace it, either with another OEM unit or a new touchscreen unit. Can anyone tell me what model number the OEM unit is in this car? And can anybody sell me a working OEM replacement? Any advice appreciated!!
RX400h Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Check out: Car Stereo: Stereos, Radios & Receivers (crutchfield.com) and click on the car audio and video heading. They typically have excellent install procedures and customer service/technical assistance. I've always had good luck with them.
