I've replaced the battery last week, and it didn't fix the problem. By the way, what kind of switch on the dashboard for the remote do you mean? I don't see any switch to turn on/off for remote access. Mine is 99 RX300 AWD with 99k Miles. Thanks email: mek88@yahoo.com
SW03ES Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 No I mean a screw on the key face, but since you already changed the battery you already figured that out. I'd try cleaning the battery contacts and inspecting the button contacts for grime buildup...
weinkaufjr Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 SW0ES, Thank you. Had same problem with both keys ('99 RX300, 52k miles). Installed two new batteries today from Longs Drugstore for $6.13. Both keys work fine now.
SW03ES Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 In my experience the key batteries don't slowly die, they just go out in one big way lol. 9 times out of 10 if the keyless entry doesnt work right, the batteries are dead.
