SLVRbullet Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 Over 75 mph, My GS400 seems to be shifty (from side to side) which also seems to affect the steering a bit when I hit bumps and/or minor dips on the road. I'm guessing that the shocks/springs need to be replaced (in which I'm going L-tuned), but anyone have any other ideas of whats up? thanks...
zeta Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 a more probably cause may be your alignment. when was the last time you took the car in for its yearly alignment? the potholes and bumps can slowly cause your alignment to go off, and thus, have bad steering. i'd go for alignment first, and ask the changes that occurred.
Matthew_McNally Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 yeah - gonna go with zeta here. get you alignment checked - sounds an awful lot like "tram lining" to me. will be cheaper than new shocks / springs. if you get new shocks / springs, you really should get the alignment done as well anyway, so could save yourself some money. Supra-chargedIS340 Posted March 12, 2003 Posted March 12, 2003 also look at tyre matching and pressures
SLVRbullet Posted March 12, 2003 Author Posted March 12, 2003 Low and behold the rear and front alignment was off BIG TIME. I just bought the car with 52K miles on it so I'm glad it was nothing big... B) Still gong to add l-tuned shocks/spring and TRD sways before summer... Thanks.
