david1walker
I have a 95 LS400, and would love to know how to turn off the auto-adjustment on the steering wheel. Sometimes upon starting the car, it goes to where it was last set....other times not. Can I just turn it off somehow?
david_hornet27
I have a 98 and the owners manual has no mention of being able to turn it off.
bull island dave
My 94 has a switch just below the turn signal that will turn it off.
1990LS400
I have a 98 and the owners manual has no mention of being able to turn it off. The "Auto tilt away" function of the steering wheel on a 98-00 LS400 can be turned on/off with a Lexus Diagnostic Tester and appropriate program card. A number of other functions are customizable. 1990LS400
My 94 has a switch just below the turn signal that will turn it off. And your point would be .... ? 1994 was the last model year with the on/off button so your information is not going to help the OP with his 95 LS400. AzHotLS
Right, no way to disable that feature on the 95. It bugged me too when I first got my 95, learned to live with it though. If it doesn't go to the previous spot, push the appropriate memory button on the door before shifting into gear to coax the steering wheel to the right position. Mine does this too from time to time. I believe it has something to do with a sensor in the ignition switch.
Thermactor
Rip out the top/bottom covers on the steering column behind the wheel and disconnect the two motors. Done.

Just trying to help.
