How Do You Get To The Rear Shelf Brake Light?

I have 1999 LS-400 and the rear shelf brake light is bad. I'm tired of seeing the warning light and it would be safer for me if I can get to the bulb to replace it. Help please.

dont know about a 99, but my 97, you just lift up on the back (screwdriver) and with a slight pull it is free. then you can change the bulb..
