Overhead Backlit Switches Rx450h

In my new 2010 rx450h, the switches on the overhead consul ( garage door opener, personal lights, int. light control) are not backlit at night with the headlights turned on. My dealer cant tell me if they are supposed to be, but my old Sienna, and even my wife's VW, have well lit switches.

Difficult to use this area in the dark! Can anyone tell me if my vehicle is flawed?

I do believe that those switches are not backlit on the 450h. They were on the 400h. I guess this gives Lexus something to 'improve' in the next few years models. I really wonder why they would do away with the backlighting..
