Es350 2010 Usb Folder Rules

The 2010 es350 can play music directly from a usb stick. However, the content format rules are unclear. I started out with all the song files in a single folder called music and discovered only 250 of the files were recognized. So I figured the content format must expect something like album folders or artist folders. Alrighty then, I reconfigured the usb stick to contain music organized by artist folders. Presently there about 100 artist folders containing around 1000 song files. This approach seems to work fine. But much to my surprise the folders are not listed in alphabetical order. They seemed to be listed somewhat randomly. So I figured maybe the date is used as well as the folder title to sort the list. Sure enough, after changing all the folders and files to the same date and time the folders were sorted as expected, except for a couple of folders. The two exceptions are a complete mystery to me. Anyway, none of this is explained anywhere as near as I can tell so perhaps someone else has some wisdom they can bring forward on this subject.

I noticed the same thing, but haven't done anything to fix that problem.

I also tried using a portable USB hard drive and it also works, as long as it's formatted as Fat 32.

One draw back, is that when I leave the drive plugged in and turn off the car, the unit seems to reset and when you turn it back on, the FM radio comes up, not the input you had before shutting down.

Has anyone tried using the DVD override module from PrestigiousSociety.com?
