mel lowe
When I put the transmission selector in gear and press the throttle, nothing happens. I checked the fluid and it looks DIRTY but is pretty full. The truck won't roll either in N or any gear, except R. help!
lenore
Do you have any check engine lights on? You may very well have joined the ranks of tranny failures...Good luck.
cinpor8
I'm trying to decide if I should keep my 99 RX300, after reading all the tranny problems, I can't afford a repair bill of 3-4K. My RX has 131,000 miles on it. Does anyone have advice for me, should I trade now? I just had to replace the bushings and O2 sensor. Yesterday, the air cond. compressor locked up. cindys300
Probably the planetary gear in the transmission. It is a known problem with the Toyota transmissions. The transmission shop that replaced mine said that it a weak link. The replacement part (bought in Oregon, I believe) is much stronger.
