2quik
2002 lx470. Since it was a nice day out today, i decided to clean my throttle body. I gentle sprayed throttle cleaner and used a brush to clean the throttle body. I know its better to take off the whole throttle but my local dealer didnt have any gaskets in stock. Anyway after i cleaned it, and started the car the idle is now at 1,100 rpm after its cool. Is this bcz now the air is flowing better, How do i lower my idle? Anyone have any ideas , thanks
strong1993
What did you use to clean it? Maybe there is something lodged between the throttle plate and the body wall? Or maybe you damaged the position sensor?
nc211
Moreover, how dirty was the intake? I'm curious about my 4runner with the same 4.7 V8, and given the fact that these engines do not have a egr system recirculating hot exhaust air back into the combustion chamber. Was yours pretty dirty?
