Lex3486 Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Does anyone know about how much I'd be lookin at to have a transmission rebuilt if I removed it and took it to the shop myself? I'm thinkin this is my best alternative, b/c I believe (although I'm not 100% sure just yet) that me and my dad can handle pulling the transmission and if so, that's that much less we'd have to pay someone else to do it for us)
JPI Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 To rebuilb the tranny It will run you about $800. Pulling the tranny out is not something you can do it at home. You will have to drop the craddle out, have a engine hanger support. Good luck with the repair. www.jpimportz.org
SKperformance Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 $800 is a really good price if you can get it locally jpi has contacts and wholesale conections that may be why his is available so cheap i priced it here and it is 1600 canadian for a full rebuild plus re and re which is a wholesale price i am going to get it for 1200 as my cousin is the manager in the rebuild shop
Lex3486 Posted January 20, 2004 Author Posted January 20, 2004 Towed it off today; 250 labor, 900 max for parts depending on what is actually broken. I figure that's decent even though I still wish I didn't have to do it at all.
SKperformance Posted January 20, 2004 Posted January 20, 2004 WOW 250 for labour is amazing you are really getting a wicked deal since it is about 8 hours re and re
