curiousB
Couple things: Be sure you aren't driving amplifier into clipping which occurs when volume/gain is set so high the amplifier runs out of headroom to deliver signal. Can be very damaging to speakers and will result in distortion. If its just the grill rattling either tighten it down or somehow dampen its resonant frequency. This can be done by removing it and adding some mass to the inside like caulking, lead tape, or expxy some steel rods into the empty cavities on the backside of the grill. Turn down the bass/volume, your ears will thank you when you're 65 years young.
