shy Posted April 1, 2009 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Hey Guys, I have a problem getting a mirror glass for my 1997 LS 400 which was stolen, but I still have the housing. The dealer is asking $400.00 just for the glass (with the backing plate), and I can't seem to get one to buy anywhere for a reasonable price. I was thinking, does anyone know if the backing plate on any 1 st generation model can fit on the 97 LS? The reason is that I'm thinking of buying a 1st Gen mirror, removing the backing plate, put that in my housing and then buying a piece of plain mirror glass which I will glue to the 1 st gen backing plate. I know this sounds a bit confusing, but the question is, will, say a 1994 LS mirror glass backing plate fit the housing of a 1997 LS?
