2004 Lexus Gs 300 Pebble Noises When Accelerates

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

My beautiful pearl 2004 GS300 with 43,000 miles and it makes a strange noise when it accelerates from a stopping point. It sounds like rocks or pebbles are moving under the hood. I've read many complaints regarding this matter, but I've seen no solution or feedback of someone who tried a solution and it worked.

By the way, thanks for the help in advance. Im a young lady and when I go to the mechanic or Lexus dealership, it makes me more comfortable when I know what Im talking about. LOL.

I LOVE LEXUS!

Welcome to the club!

Sounds like pinging. Could be the grade of fuel you're using or a batch of bad gas. You could also be running a bit lean.

I posted this befor...

I was getting this sound too, after I found that my antifreeze level was really low I’ve added more and it went a way.

so check the level of your antifreeze.

Thanks,

I will absolutely check my antifreeze. That sounds weird though, that that noise would be caused by lack of antifreeze.

I will let ya know...
