Lexus.
A local shop quoted me $600 to change timing belt, water pump, idler, tensioner, plus additional for bearings only if it needs it. Is that a good price? I know its a good shop - I took my FJ60 Toy Landcruiser (pain in a$$ to work on)there for years and they did perfect work
mejojo
Yes, that's a very good price. Lexus lists it at 4.6 hours labor, $60+ for the belt and almost $200 for the water pump. Joe

JPI
That is a good price. Our shop run the T-belt and water pump special for $550. I don't think they are replacing the tensioner. We use all toyota parts though. www.jpimportz.org
mejojo
The water pump lists at $200, so I imagine your cost is significantly less? How much time does it take an experienced mechanic to do this job? I know the book is usually overrated by quite a bit for the veteran mechanic.
