1998 Gs300 Key

Hello

As a newbie I have a question that may have been asked before. Please be patient with me as I have never used this site.

As described in the title my key works to LOCK the doors but almost never to UNLOCK them. The Dealer suggested to have it replaced for close to $200 plus the re programing of $75.

Is there a cheaper source for a new key ? and to reprogram it ?

Take the key apart and clean all the Grubb out of it................Use an old toothbrush and a jewelers screwdriver, Replace the battery also. ;)
