fragman Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I've got a '93 LS 400 with the stock pioneer sound system, which to my knowledge has no easy cheap way to integrate an auxiliary jack e.g Ipod. I would like to splice into the cd wires that go to the amp, but I can't find where the amp is. I've looked under the cd changer, under the glove compartment, and under the passenger seat. any ideas? -fragman
1990LS400 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I don't have a diagram for the 93 but the diagram I have for a 94 LS400 with std Pioneer shows only a small amp for the subwoofer. fragman Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 Thats the guide I was originally following, but there isn't an amp under my passenger seat vent/carpeting. maybe there just isn't one?
lex90 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 look in the trunk/drivers side/rear window deck
fragman Posted February 22, 2009 Author Posted February 22, 2009 I've decided to wire where the cd changer goes into the head unit. just have to figure out how to remove the head unit
lex90 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Try this: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/audio/headunit.html
fragman Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 thanks I didn't know it was so easy. after cutting tons of wires and soldering for way too long I decided that it wasn't worth messing up a plug and !Removed! the whole system I couldn't find anyone with the correct pinouts
