Low Speed Cold Weather Whine

Hi everyone. I was curious to see if anyone else has experienced this. I am a bit paranoid as this is my first lexus (2000 rx 300 awd 65k on the clock purchased used).

When its below 30 degrees and I am in the speed range of 20 -30 MPH I get a whinning sound, I just had the vehicle serviced, oil change, serp belts changed tranny & tranaxles fluid changes (not flushed) but just drained & refilled.

When I am running below 20 or over 30MPH the whine disappears. on days over 40 it does not seem to make the whining noise at all. My mechanic mentioned he topped off the power steering fluid, but I still get this whinning noise any one ever experience this or have any suggestions?

As I am typing this I recall reading post about noises coming from the AC, as it is cold when this happens I am running the defroster and the AC light comes on, wonder if this might be part of the problem...

thanks!

Wrong forum, Joe(this is for the LS)...back up to the RX forum --> http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showforum=96

They may be more familiar with this issue.

I have the same whine on my 03 rx300 awd while driving right after start-up. Never noticed it until this year... hmmm?

Same thing on my 01 since I got it with 45K on it. Figured it was normal...
