sc300rye1 Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 I recently had the 700 dollar climate control replaced and my A/C was working fine and my heater too. About two weeks after it got really cold and I tried to use my heater, but only cold air would come out when i truned the climate knob all the way to hot. If I press auto at a temp that requires a heater, the fan does not blow and the climate control displays that there are no bars to indicate how hard the fan is blowing. What could be the problem?
SKperformance Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 did you try the self diagnostic ,located in the general maintance section?
sc300rye1 Posted January 2, 2004 Author Posted January 2, 2004 I broke down and had lexus do the diagnostic for 91 dollars but I found out that the problem was that I need to replace the heater control valve. Does anyone have the procedure to do this or can anyone send me a copy from the repair manual for a 1992 lexus sc300. please send to rpgriggs@ucdavis.edu
AWJ Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I used to send out that stuff and still do for what I have digitized. But my scanner is done for. Unless someone else can do it for ya. I know at least one member here has done it before.
JPI Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Heater control valve located on the firewall. This is an easy job. It would take you about 30 minutes. www.jpimportz.org
