Lexus Gs300 Overheating.....heater Core?

My gs300 starting over heating on a 20 min trip to the store. I noticed some white smoke coming out of the hood of my car. I took it to my mechanic today and he said it's the heater core....I didn't know that the heater core could overheat my car. I also wanted to know where I could possibly buy an aftermarket one?

If you're losing coolant from your heater core do to a leak then your car is overheating because of no coolant...

as far as aftermarket goes...

The cost of the core is nothing compared to getting it in.

thanks for the info......although that rockauto part is only for 2002-2005....so I may have to go to the dealer. this is going to cost me!

if its a dealer part use sewell lexus or carson toyota... don't walk into a dealer and buy one... they will bend you over without any vaseline....

I think its $290 after shipping from carson toyota...
