itsLucky Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 the rear struts are blown and it costs $500 for ONE from dealer. that that's w/o labor. I am going to change them out myself but does anyone have any idea if it would be ok to go with aftermarket struts that DO NOT have the "Adaptive Variable Suspension"? thx in advance.
itsLucky Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 What year LX do you have? sorry, probably would've helped to mention this is not on my LX but my friends car... it's a 97' ES300
spalkin Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Try KYB struts. They're the same manufacturer that makes the factory shocks. The ride is a bit stiffer, but I like that. You only get the intense rebound damping versions from the stealership. Not expensive at all. Check into it.
smooth1 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 The only issue I see is that you will probably need to replace all four to "match" the ride. I can get you Tokico HP struts, fronts and rears for under $400.00 if your interested. Brand new in the box with a warrentee. I have other brands also, but those are the stock spec replacements.
