mnesbit
I have a '95 LS 400 and the ball joint on the top of the spindle has to be replaced. Also the bushing on the lower part of the spindle has to be replaced? Where is the best place to purchase these parts and, is the bushing easy to be replaced or is a press needed to do that, or is it necessary to buy a new spindle? Thanks, Mike

Where is the best place to purchase these parts and, is the bushing easy to be replaced or is a press needed to do that, or is it necessary to buy a new spindle? Thanks, Mike I had to have my lower and upper bushings replaced about 4-years ago (couldn't align the rear wheels because the old bushings gave too much). I believe the car had about 120,000 miles on it at the time. Unfortunately, the local repair shop and Lexus told me that the bushings were not sold as a separate part and I would have to purchase an entire new spindle. I also had to buy a new set of bearings to be pressed into the spindles as they didn't come with them. Sorry, but I don't remember how much it cost me. I think I blanked that part of... :P That being said, this was before I learned about these forums and before I began taking an interest in doing most of the maintenance myself. There may be something different out now that I was unaware of.
