Is it ok on your car to do everyday driving in the low,2,3, and 4 manual gears???

No it's not! Why would you need to do that? The engine RPM will be higher than normal. You waste gas. The lower gears are mainly for the car to get up to speed and not used extensively. The engine life will definitely be shortened. :chairshot:

In the manual it says:

For the best compromise between fuel economy and vehicle performance, you should upshift or downshift at the following speeds.

1 to 2 or 2 to 1 24 km / h (15 mph)

2 to 3 or 3 to 2 40 km / h (25 mph)

3 to 4 or 4 to 3 65 km / h (40 mph)

4 to 5 or 5 to 4 72 km / h (45 mph)

Well, actually the upshifting isn't going to do anything for you except hold the gear that it is in longer. Thats not going to help economy, it will hamper it. For instance, putting the car in "2" wont put the car in second gear from a start. When you start the transmission will start in first, upshift to 2nd just where it always would, and then hold in second. Same is true of selecting 3 or 4 on the shifter. Its not a manumatic. The purpose of adding those lower gears is for downshifting. For instance if you're going down a highway grade you can shift from D to 4 to 3 to use engine braking to slow the car and save on the service brakes. Its actually not possible to shift the car in the way you're thinking.

"2" can come in handy, like descending a long, snow-covered hill at 15 MPH like I did this evening.
