PETLEXUS
I am looking at a used 2006 GS300 for my next car. I know it has a unique 3.0 V6 engine (discontinued after 2007 with the introduction of GS350). Toyota doesn't seem to be using this engine in any other cars in the U.S. Does it run on timing belt or timing chain?
GuyTelefunken
There are two timing chains in the 3GR-FSE engine.
steviej
There are two timing chains in the 3GR-FSE engine. if they are chains, then that means no major service replacement around 90k, correct? steviej
darwin666
and what about the 2006-2007 GS430..? does it also have a timing belt?
gserep1
ALL LS and GS 430 engines have timing belts. GS & IS 350 and GS and LS 460's all have timing chains! This is a change for the better, but belts are quieter. I don't think that the water pump has to be changed anymore at 90,000 miles. and what about the 2006-2007 GS430..? does it also have a timing belt? Not at 90k, but they do have to be changed.
