Check Engine Light 91 Ls400

The check engine light on my 91 LS400 came on last night on the way home from work. It stayed on for about 10 minutes and then went off. There was no change in the way the engine was running. It did not come on any today. I thought that once the Check Engine light came on it stayed on until reset by the dealer. Anyone have any idea about what might be going on?

No, they can flash on and off. The initial illumination means something is wrong and it will likely get worse and illuminate more often. I am not 100% sure, but I think there is a way to check the "stored codes". At least I think that is the case on General Motors cars.
