silvermistLS Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Hello, Wondering if any of you have experienced this before. I've noticed a couple of instances where my car has a funny almost burnt log (ash) smell in the cabin. The odd part is that the only 2 times ive experienced it, it has been while entering the car after it's been sitting at work for 8 hours. I've only smelled it twice (today being the second time). I know it's nothing inside the engine compartment, but I'm wondering if the issue isn't with the micron air filter inside the cabin??? I do know that I have a crack in my ERG pipe, but I can't imagine that the fumes have anything to do with this peculiar smell... Your thoughts please..
SKperformance Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Probably an oil drip on the back of the engine onto the exhaust. check the valve covers.
silvermistLS Posted May 7, 2008 Author Posted May 7, 2008 I think if it was an oil drip, the smell would be consistent.. and it isn't. No smell in the morning.. or in any other setting other than, when I leave work (and that's SOMETIMES). plus, car has no leaks.
