What Is The Widest Tire We Can Put On A Stock 16" Wheel?

I have a 96 GS300 and just wanted to know what is the widest tire size we can put on a stock 16" wheel? I'm not looking for low profile, either. Thanks!

The OEM size was 215/60-16 was standard on your car so 235/55-16 tires would fit perfectly on the OEM 16"x7.5" wheels and keep the speedometer almost perfectly accurate. There is a pretty good selection of 235/55-16 tires available at fairly low prices - check http://www.tirerack.com

widest on the stock 16 wheel would be a 235. Widest aftermarket wheel such as 19s in the rear would be 275.
