kino1161 Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I have a 96 GS300 and just wanted to know what is the widest tire size we can put on a stock 16" wheel? I'm not looking for low profile, either. Thanks!
1990LS400 Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 The OEM size was 215/60-16 was standard on your car so 235/55-16 tires would fit perfectly on the OEM 16"x7.5" wheels and keep the speedometer almost perfectly accurate. There is a pretty good selection of 235/55-16 tires available at fairly low prices - check http://www.tirerack.com You can play with tire sizes on this calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp You can view the OEM tires specs for your car here: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/1996/1996GSspecs.pdf

Thanks! widest on the stock 16 wheel would be a 235. Widest aftermarket wheel such as 19s in the rear would be 275.
