insignalhill Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I noticed that the 2007-2008 models (IS250, 350, GS, etc) have these really white lights to light the car's license plate..LED lights maybe? Does anyone know if there's any way to put those lights on a 2002 ls430? Not sure if the bulbs were the same, etc.

In my location, u can find ém in almost any car accessories shop!
jcrome04 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I'd just replace the plate lights with the blue glass "Xenon" 194s. They look awesome at night.
JCJ1 Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 You can buy the LED replacement bulbs for all the lights on your 02 430 @ . I replaced all of the bulbs on my 02 including the side marker lights under the mirrors. It really makes a difference.

I have noticed these bright license plate lamps as well on the new Lexus and have been impressed by them as well. They do not get too hot for these applications do they?

JCJ1 Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Hello? You have to get a long barreled phillips head screw driver and then you will need to manipulate the mirror in a way that exposes each screw one at a time. You will find them by moving the mirror around. There is one in each corner. Once you get the screws out just pull the mirror housing apart and the light cover will come off exposing the bulb. It is not as much trouble as you might think. Once you get into it you will see that it is no problem. Just takes patience. Good luck.

Thanks, but I was referring to bulbs for the license plate lights... wondering the bulb #s and if they are OK for use in a gen 1 LS400.
Jify Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 If your worried about heat, the LEDs don't cause any, so they should be fine if they fit. I have two blue LED 194's sitting around (i think 194 is the small bulb?), I'll be trying to get into the licenses plate sometime this or next week. I'll make sure to give you the scoop if no one has by then. :)
Jify Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Lol. I'm definately not getting into those lights anytime soon. Seems like its abit of work. I threw my blue LCD's in the doors instead. Looks nice. :)
