rmcphearson
97 sc300. I get a loud squeek/creeking noise from the front suspension when going over speed bumps at slow speeds. The car seems to handle fine to me, but if I ever sell it this could be a problem for the buyer. What is this and what should I do. Thanks in advance for your responses!! grnsc40095
rmcphearson, The bushings need to be replaced to stop the squeaking, or you can spray WD-40 around the bushings. I have read somewhere on this site that it helped stop the noise. The link below explains how to replace. http://www.planetsoarer.com/upperbushes/upperbushes.htm http://www.planetsoarer.com/celsior/bushes/bushes.htm
rmcphearson
grnsc40095, thanks. The guy I bought it from must have sprayed it before I test drove it because I went over some speed bumps during the test drive and heard no noise. grnsc40095
rmcphearson, Forgot to mention that this could be the problem as well, about the squeaking over bumps. http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages...html?1123034481
rmcphearson
Thanks buddy. I hope that's it. That looks a lot easier! Roland
UCF3
I hate my control arm bushings. I was a pain to replace and they squeak like crazy when it's cold. Buy Supra TRD control arms if you can. It will stiffen the suspension a little, and won't squeak.
Ted7
My mechanic changed the lower-arms with new bushings, it was cheaper than just buying the bushings and waiting for hours to get them out! Costs me $470.00 to change both front lower arms. I love my mechanic :P
