shellybelle Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Can anyone tell me if they have the Maroon red paint color on their 2006 GS 430. I seem to have little paint "chips" all over the hood. Please tell me that the paint on this car is not that fragile. Has anyone else had issues with this? I read a few posts about the black color being that way. Thanks. Also, best way to wash it? I have only had it for about 3 weeks and have had it hand washed a couple of times. I seem to notice that these little "chips" appeared after I was FAR behind a concrete truck yesterday and am hoping this is not permanent! HELP! Thanks

Thanks My wife has the same car and I believe hers has a similar problem that I think is from acid rain. I first noticed after the dealer washed it during a warranty repair. Looks like 1/4" spots with random edges, like the clear coat has been burned off. Ours has 13000 miles and is kept outside.
merdos Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I have a2007 RX350 and 2007 LS460 - both have had issues with paint. The paint will chip off with the slightest ding. It get's worse than the chips. The RX has now developed cracks in the mirrors and doors. The LS has cracks in the front bumper. Haven't talked to the dealer yet - can't wait to see what they have to say. Two cars - both always hand washed - different colors - different models - same problem!!
