Hello, I have two questions. I am wanting to put chrome rims on my car. Does anyone know if the stock ones can be chrome dipped? I thought I heard that was possible. If not, where is the best place to buy rims? I am thinking the Lexus dealership will be a lot more expensive for them. Will call them just to get a price. Also, I thought I read somewhere once NOT to use Armor-All on the interior. Is that correct? If so, what would be the best product to use for my interior. I have the black/grey interior. The black part is starting to look dull and show signs of a few light spots throughout. I feel like it needs to "shine" again. Thanks for your help!

My trunk is not opening anymore with either the key or the button inside the car. Does anyone know why? I can't find anything in the manual about it. I am getting tired of using the key to open it up. UGH! Thanks for the help. :D

Hello, I would like to put chrome rims on my wheels. Has anyone ever tried to chrome the existing stock ones that come with the car? Also, if that is not a feasible option, what's the best place to buy them (like a national chain for instance). I am assuming they would be a lot more through the Lexus dealership. Also, no problems with tinting windows right? I am scheduled to have them done next week. Think it will make the car a lot better looking, not to mention a little cooler inside the cabin. I must need to have my car serviced, because I've tried several times to change the setting to "off" for having the screen go automatically to the maps. It looks like it should be a very simple thing to do yet it doesn't work for me. Anyone else experience this? Thanks.

I found out that the motion override has to be done each time you re-start the car. Bummer; wish it would just stay that way--oh well, I guess it's better than nothing. <_<

Hi. Can the audio screen be set to be the default screen when the car is turned on? I just always get the navigation map screen. I tried a suggestion someone else had but it didn't work for me. Thanks. :)

I've read on some other members' posts about a motion override code for the nav system. Does anyone know the code or where I can find it. I have an '06 GS 430. Thanks.

Thanks for the help with the blank screen--the map voice seems to have brought it back to the "I agree" screen again. Also, I tried to get the Audio screen to be the default screen per instructions, but it is not working for me. I have a GS '06 model; the photo reply to my question looks to be a newer model. I will have to go back through the manual again. Maybe I should update the navigation disc; does this change features like that (defaults, etc.)? Thanks for all the help!

I decided to turn off the screen one day because I was tired of looking at the navigation maps all the time. It will not stay on audio (frustrating). Of course now I can't get the screen back on. What's the secret to get the screen back on? Thanks.

Can anyone tell me if they have the Maroon red paint color on their 2006 GS 430. I seem to have little paint "chips" all over the hood. Please tell me that the paint on this car is not that fragile. Has anyone else had issues with this? I read a few posts about the black color being that way. Thanks. Also, best way to wash it? I have only had it for about 3 weeks and have had it hand washed a couple of times. I seem to notice that these little "chips" appeared after I was FAR behind a concrete truck yesterday and am hoping this is not permanent! HELP! Thanks

Hello, Anyone successfully transferred their phone book to the bluetooth? I followed the directions on page 242-243 of the owners manual, but the screen that says "overwrite" or "transfer" on the Data Transfer screen does not come up. It just says to have the phone transfer the numbers over. Anyone know how to do that? Thanks!

ps----hubby burst in on that last reply........I'm a mom of two and it is a lot of work but the most wonderful experience you will ever have...I'm gonna cry now because it's so sweet......some friends of ours just announced the same thing last week! You're a little late. A class action suit was filed a few years back against Verizon, and Verizon lost. Should google Verizon V710 lawsuit and learn what crippled bluetooth is. Even if the Lexus bluetooth may have compatibility issues, thats no excuse to blame the car if your phone doesn't have the proper bluetooth profiles. People tend to overlook their phone and carriers for some reason. FYI, the bluetooth profiles the car needs to see from your phone are listed in your owners manual. PS-- I did what Duckman said.......and it worked!!! Thank you! The bluetooth was a big selling point for me as my last car didn't have it so I really wanted it to work and it does!! I LOVE MY CAR...I was just getting frustrated with the bluetooth functions and I had read other complaints about people having to get new phones. Like I said I love the car so far and I was the owner previously of an ES about 8 years ago. I'm so happy to be back in a Lexus. The ride is incredible and it is a blast to drive and it always turns heads--I have the Maroon color and I love it! Thanks again

If you go to www.carsonempty.com (I believe that's it); it will tell you how many miles the car will still go after the empty light comes on; for Lexus GS I believe it was around 40 miles. It will tell you this on any car; I found it very interesting but hope I do not push past empty too much; I was already bad about that sometimes.

Hello, Does anyone know if the Verizon "En-V" phone will connect to the 2006 GS 430 bluetooth? My whole family is with Verizon and I really don't want to have to get a new phone with another service provider just to use the bluetooth in the car. My phone is capapble of it. I just don't understand why this is so hard.......I've seen several others ask about this. Maybe it is time for the class action suit as others have said.....this is very frustrating after spending that kind of money on what is supposed to be a car made in "the relentess pursuit of perfection"! Any comments or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
