Timing belt and chain???http://www.car-stuff.com/mmparts/lexus-gs3...iming_belt.html They aren't expensive. www.rockautoparts.com has a Gates timing belt for $20, and a Dayco tensioner for $37. I think when people were talking about how much it cost to have it done, they were talking about labor prices, if you pay to have it done by a shop. Good luck! djspawn00
Its the labor that cost the big bucks... and maybe the water pump... the belt itself isn't so much unless you're buying it from the dealer or getting a kevlar belt like this one... http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/Templates/fr...&SearchYN=N

My buddy runs an HKS belt on his Mitsubishi Evolution II (600WHP) and it takes quite a bit of abuse as far as timing belts go. But for a daily driver, and even mildly modified, I wouldn't see the need for a belt like that. Gates makes damn fine belts as well.
