  1. As long as all of the tires are the same size, you will be fine.
  2. I would bet that a ballast went bad. Did you try the old driver side bulb in the passenger side to see if it was actually bad? I have the same problem on the passenger side. Where can I pick up a replacement ballast? Are they factory HIDs? If so, start looking on Ebay because I am willing to bet Lexus charges a fortune. If they are aftermarket, you may be better off just buying a new kit, since you can get them pretty cheap.
  3. This is from www.rockautoparts.com, where I buy most of my parts, and I think you can see why: RAYBESTOS Part # SGD619C More Info {Service Grade; Ceramic} Front; OE Ceramic; Recommended Replacement $24.79 RAYBESTOS Part # SGD771C More Info {Service Grade; Ceramic} Rear; OE Ceramic; Recommended Replacement $17.80 The service and shipping is great from these guys. I use them all of the time. Also, after you buy from them, they email you discount codes quite often, usually 10%-20% off of your next order.
  4. RockAutoParts has rear calipers for just under $60 a piece, made by A-1 CARDONE, and rear rotors for under $20 a piece, made by Raybestos. I have bought many parts from them, and they are outstanding. Oh, and rear pads, also by Raybestos, are under $20 as well. Hope this helps you out. www.rockautoparts.com
  5. I have had a Pioneer AVIC-D2 for a while now, and I love it. It is a great unit. There are newer versions out there, but they all use the same map discs for the most part. And you can get it for much cheaper than the new ones. It is not a flip out, though. It is a full touch screen that folds down and behind the screen is a slot for the navigation DVD as well as a slot for CD/MP3/WMA, etc. You can get the XM or Siruis tuner if you want, but with XM you can get XM NavTraffic, which is pretty cool. You can hook an iPod to it, Bluetooth, rear camera, etc. It is worth checking out in my opinion. Also, in my old Lexus, I had Eclipse speakers all around and they sounded beautiful. Hope this helps. Do you happen to know what sizes those speakers were? Impedance, size, everything? and do you know if the first gen GS and second gen GS have the same size speakers? Thanks, ~rob Sorry, but I do not remember the impedance or anything. They were in an ES300 anyway, so they may not have even been what you want for a GS. However I can tell you that the 2nd gen GS has 6.5" front and back, and so does the 1st gen. I hope this helps you.
  6. Gs300Luver Tires R pricey, but not that pricey for one. Wherever you are going to get tires...don't go there! Have you checked tirerack.com? They have Blizzak WS-50s for $90 a piece on closeout. Check it: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp...amp;search=true Hope this helps.

  8. I was supposed to have it installed today, but the shop canceled my appointment, apparently because of Virginia Tech shooting-like threats at NIU here. What that has to do with an audio store, I have no idea. So, now I gotta reschedule....maybe with a different place.

  10. I would probably drive on it, but that is me. I would just keep a good eye on it, and watch your tire pressures.
  11. Can you see any of the sidewall material? If you can see anything other than rubber, I sure wouldn't drive it.
  12. I have 99 lexus with 85k miles. Lexus maintained since birth. 22 mpg city = I run 92-93 octane. I have a light foot which I can tell you from experience makes a big difference in gas mileage. Easier said than done when you live here in IL, where they do not know how to plow the damn roads and the tires spend more time spinning than propelling the vehicle forward. I think since it started snowing I am getting somewhere around 5 or 6 mpg. Haha
  13. That HKS belt is a nice one. My buddy runs an HKS belt on his Mitsubishi Evolution II (600WHP) and it takes quite a bit of abuse as far as timing belts go. But for a daily driver, and even mildly modified, I wouldn't see the need for a belt like that. Gates makes damn fine belts as well.
  14. Usually what I do is put one lug nut back on a few threads, and give the sidewall a good kick. Most of the time this works. If not, bust out the big hammer. Just try not to hit the rim if it isn't rubber Good luck.
  15. They aren't expensive. www.rockautoparts.com has a Gates timing belt for $20, and a Dayco tensioner for $37. I think when people were talking about how much it cost to have it done, they were talking about labor prices, if you pay to have it done by a shop. Good luck!
  16. Huh? Congratulations. You have an open differential. Thats normal. I think that answers your question.....right?
  17. Hi guys, Congrats on your new Nav system. I have been looking at a few Nav, DVD systems for my 2002 gs300. My fear is that it comes out looking badly put together. It would be great to see how your install came out. I will certainly post some pics when it is finished.
  18. Is your unlock button sticking on your remote? I know on mine if you hold the unlock button, all of the windows will roll down and the sunroof will open. Just a thought.
  19. sorry man, i think it's so stupid question. open trunk, i really guess u know how it's to open :) you just need to remove a covering fo trunk, there u will find two buld, turn i change it. i can show on picture, but only on monday. Take it easy man--not everyone knows how to do this stuff. Thats why this forum is here. Just because something is easy, doesn't mean that everyone knows how to do it. Remember that next time you post a question--maybe someone thinks YOUR question is stupid.
  20. If the IS300 is 2 ohm, I am willing to bet that the GS300 is the same way. Isn't there a amplifier interface I can buy like they offer for some other cars? This just seems like such a damn hassle to put in an aftermarket stereo. I already have the dash kit. I just need to figure out if I have to run new wires or not. How do I find out what ohm load my stereo is?
  21. I will to use four external amplifiers. All stock music (cd-chandger, stereo, tweeters & midbass) are removed, Because it not quality sound which i prefer. That doesn't really help me any. Read original posts.
  22. I cut off stock stereo, i took a radio dash kit and installed into 1din Alpine DVA-9861Ri 1/2din 7inch monitor w/ av adapter (no picture) 1/2din PROLOGY DVD-500HD MkII total picture of full install will be on monday. How are you bypassing the factory amp?
  23. Both turn signals are acting up, or just one side?
