Bad Power Steering Pump?

ED.

Recommended Posts

Drove the LS tonight and was getting a terrible moan and screech from the steering. I believe my sisters friend who is a mechanic looked at it before and filled it up with fluid but its still noisy and bothersome. Doesnt seem to affect steering 'ease' if you will but it just makes a whole bunch of noise.

We looking at a new pump?

Thanks,

Search for the thread here and DIY, will save you a lot. two hours work, done. just change the pump not the reservior.

rebuild the soft parts for 10 bucks plus shipping, craigslist in NY somewhere. Probably a hard cracked internal O ring seal that is on the pressure side. directions online here.
