acf Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 1) Is it bad to wax in the sun? I just waxed my black car and it looks great but I'm seeing some deep "smear" wax shadow marks on the hood. Maybe they'll go away but I don't often have the luxury of waxing in the shade. 2) What's the best type of drying towel to avoid lint? Is there one "towel" that will work on back to back car washings without getting too saturated? Thanks in advance, gang. B)
SW03ES Posted September 14, 2003 Posted September 14, 2003 Yes, you shouldn't wax in the sun, it creates streaking. You can remove that streaking with a quick detailer spray. As for towels, good Microfiber towels wont leave lint, and they wont scratch either. A waffle weave MF towel will hold almost a gallon of water... Check out www.pakshak.com
jeremyp Posted November 23, 2003 Posted November 23, 2003 I use pakshak's waffle weave towel for drying my RX300. Best drying towel I've ever seen. On your final rinse use a hose with no nozzle and let the water run off the car and it'll leave behind very few beads compared to spray rinsing with a nozzle. I don't even have to wring out the waffle weave to dry the car completely.
VBdenny Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Use a California Water Blade before you get the towel out.
SW03ES Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 Thats what I do, CWB followed by a waffle weave, then a finishing towel and a QD.
