tm1414 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 any one know if the horn and airbag get power together... perhaps under the airbag or steering wheel? had to pull the column and replace the upper bracket assembly because the rod broke behind the key tumbler.. got it back together, installed and horn doesn't work and airbag light is on. I didn't pull them off for this job... thanks
SKperformance Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Your clock spring is either disconnected or broken. It is located under behind the steering wheel and is a coil inside an assembly which wires the horn , cruise , and airbag.
Captainrye Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Check the cruise control...if it doesn't work...it is the clock spring. (Also known as spiral cable) Mine was broken in my 2000 LX and I had to buy one from Lexus and install. Did it myself...not too tough...but the part was pricey.
tm1414 Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 thanks.. was the clockspring.. $200 at dealer... found one on ebay for $85.. all set now.. thanks again
