  1. Looking at a purchasing a 2000 ES. The owner says he had to have odometer/cluster replaced. Says the ECU stores the mileage so what is reflected on the new cluster are true miles. Anyone know if the ECU stores the original mileage? Thanks
  2. Ron, Need to disconnect battery and wait five minutes or so... Removal Instructionsfrom FSM . REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD NOTICE: _ If the airbag connector is disconnected with the ignition switch at ON or ACC, DTCs will be recorded. _ Never use airbag parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace with new ones. (a) Place the front wheels facing straight ahead. (B) Remove the steering wheel lower No.2 and No.3 covers. (There are 2 plastic covers at 3 and 9 o'clock) © Using a torx socket wrench, loosen the 2 torx screws. HINT: Loosen the 2 screws until the groove along the screw circumference catches on the screw case. (d) Pull the pad out from the steering wheel and disconnect the airbag connector. (e) Disconnect the connector. CAUTION: _ When storing the wheel pad, keep the upper surface of the pad facing upward. _ Never disassemble the wheel pad. NOTICE: When removing the wheel pad, take care not to pull the airbag wire harness. 2. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL (a) Disconnect the connector. (B) Remove the steering wheel set nut. © Place matchmarks on the steering wheel and main shaft assembly. (d) Using SST, remove the wheel (steerinng wheel puller) –05010, 09953–05020, 09954–05020) Swap over Clockspring if new wheel doesn't have one.... careful not to rotate it in the process
  3. thanks.. was the clockspring.. $200 at dealer... found one on ebay for $85.. all set now.. thanks again
  4. any one know if the horn and airbag get power together... perhaps under the airbag or steering wheel? had to pull the column and replace the upper bracket assembly because the rod broke behind the key tumbler.. got it back together, installed and horn doesn't work and airbag light is on. I didn't pull them off for this job... thanks
