lovemynewlexus
Hi, I recently lost one of my smartaccess master keys for my 2006 LS430. I was just wondering, how much are the replacements?
SW03ES
It completely depends on where you get them. Check out www.lexus-parts.com Welcome to the club!
lovemynewlexus
Thanks for welcoming me! I'm glad I'm here because your advice really helped. I checked the website and found the prices for the new smart access keys. They're a lot lower than I thought. Just to confirm that, I actually called a couple of local dealers in my area. The first dealer I called, Lexus of Concord, they quoted me $295.00! Wow, that's more than double the amount on lexus-parts.com. I don't think I'll be doing my maintenance or any other service over in Concord. The second dealer I called, Lexus of Serramonte, quoted a lot more down to earth price, which is comparable with lexus-parts.com. However, they quoted me on the OEM Lexus Electrical Key Sub Transmitter, part #89995-50240-RK. When I asked if this is a master smart key, they said yes. Then I emailed lexus-parts.com and asked them which is the master key, and they told me it's part number 89994-50241-RK. It's about $20.00 more than the one quoted to me by Serramonte. Lexus-parts.com does have both part numbers as well. So, my question is, which is the right part number? I'm looking for the master smart key, not the valet smart key. What's the difference between the two of them? Any input from anybody who knows this would be appreciated. Thanks!
05silverls430
The valet key doesn't have the ability to open the trunk (no trunk button). All you can do is open the door and start the car.
SW03ES
Yeah, you don't want to buy them from the dealer LOL. Actually Lexus-Parts.com is run by a guy named Darrell Diller who is the parts manager at Sewell Lexus in Texas. His prices show you how much of a markup there is on Lexus parts at the dealer. Keep in mind they're still making a profit on the site, some of the markups are like 300%. The part numbers are really confusing. I'd trust Lexus-Parts only because I trust Darrell and I have experience with them in the past.
